Description
Material Composition:
70–80% PLA + 20–30% wood fibers or powder
Types of wood used can include birch, pine, bamboo, cedar, or coconut shell
Appearance:
Matte, grainy texture that looks like real wood
Can have natural wood tones (light, dark, reddish, etc.)
Smell:
Emits a pleasant wood scent while printing (varies based on wood type)
Diameter:
Common sizes: 1.75mm (±0.02mm tolerance)
Nozzle Temperature:
190°C – 220°C
Lower temps give lighter color, higher temps darken the finish (you can simulate “burned” wood!)
Bed Temperature:
50°C – 60°C (some brands work fine on unheated beds)
Print Speed:
30 – 60 mm/s (slower is better for better surface finish)
Nozzle Recommendation:
Use a 0.5mm or larger nozzle to prevent clogs
Hardened steel or wear-resistant nozzles recommended (wood fibers are slightly abrasive)
Layer Adhesion & Warping:
Excellent adhesion
Very low warping (similar to PLA)
Density:
Slightly lighter than pure PLA, depending on wood content
Post-processing:
Can be sanded, stained, or even carved
Great for laser engraving or applying wood finishes
